UNSIKA and UNESA Forge Strategic Partnership in Scientific Publication and Curriculum Development

Surabaya, 23rd May 2025 Universitas Negeri Surabaya

Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (UNSIKA) and Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) have officially established a collaboration focused on scientific publication and curriculum development. This agreement was formalized after discussions between Evi Karlina Ambarwati, S.S., M.Ed., Coordinator of the English Education Study Program at UNSIKA, and Dr. Himmawan Adi Nugroho, M.Pd., Coordinator of the English Education Study Program at UNESA, on May 23, 2025.

The collaboration is part of a broader Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) and Implementation Arrangement (IA) that involves several faculties from both universities. At UNESA, the participating faculties include the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Faculty of Education (FIP), Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS), and Faculty of Sports and Health (FIKK). From UNSIKA, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) is actively involved in this initiative.

This partnership aims to strengthen the tridharma of higher education—education, research, and community service—by enhancing the quality and quantity of scientific publications, developing and harmonizing curricula, and expanding opportunities for academic mobility. Both universities are committed to facilitating student exchanges, joint research, and pathways for UNSIKA students to pursue doctoral studies at UNESA.

The collaboration is also expected to support impactful community service programs and foster innovative research. It aligns with UNESA’s ongoing transformation as a state university with legal entity status (PTN-BH), serving as a model for institutional development and academic excellence.

Overall, this agreement reflects the commitment of both institutions to advancing higher education and research in Indonesia. It lays a strong foundation for future joint initiatives, broader academic cooperation, and increased contributions to national and international scientific communities.
