KARAWANG July 2025– A team of English Language Education lecturers has successfully implemented a community service program in collaboration with the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKPSDM) Karawang. The program, which ran from May to July 2025, was led by Dr. Fikri Asih Wigati alongside team members Fela Dafitri, M.Pd., Putri Kamalia Hakim, M.Hum., Dr. Nia Pujiawati, M.Pd., and Yuna Tresna Wahyuna, M.Pd. This initiative aimed to enhance English language proficiency among civil servants in Karawang, specifically focusing on improving their ability to deliver quality public services. The training sessions were conducted at the BKPSDM office, providing participants with practical language skills relevant to their professional duties.
The program attracted 20 participants representing various government agencies across Karawang, including the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Health Office, Immigration, Public Relation, Manpower Department, Protocol Division, Social Services Department, and other local government institutions. Throughout the training period, participants engaged with materials specifically designed to integrate English language skills with public service delivery. Dr. Fikri Asih Wigati, as the program coordinator, expressed her hope that this community service initiative will continue in future iterations, bringing sustained benefits to civil servants throughout Karawang. "We envision this program as an ongoing partnership that contributes to the professional development of public servants in our region," she stated.
Echoing this sentiment, Mrs. Lina Jazuli, MM, representing BKPSDM, conveyed the
agency's strong support for the program's continuation while suggesting future
enhancements. "BKPSDM hopes that subsequent programs can be expanded by
implementing Learning Management System (LMS) technology, which would provide
more flexible and accessible learning opportunities for our civil
servants," Mrs. Jazuli remarked, emphasizing the institution's commitment
to modernizing professional development approaches.
