Students then presented the results of their analyses and lesson designs. Each group explained the warming-up activities they had developed to build classroom engagement prior to implementing the PPP stages. They also clarified the target learner levels—ranging from beginners to university students and the types of assessments or assignments they planned to include, such as reflective writing, linguistic analysis, or interpreting poetic meaning. A variety of creative ideas emerged, including using poetry to teach adjectives, past participles, rhymes, emotions, and moral values. The guest lecturer provided positive feedback and constructive suggestions, reminding students to align learning objectives with learners’ proficiency levels and to avoid setting too many objectives in a single session, especially for lower-level learners. She also emphasized that songs may be used as a form of lyrical poetry in language teaching.
The session was closed by Mr. Hilmansyah Saefullah, S.S., M.Pd., who expressed his appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm and creativity, as well as the guest lecturer’s inspiring contribution. The event concluded with a group photo featuring the course lecturer, guest lecturer, program coordinator, students, and attending faculty members. Through this Visiting Lecture, students gained valuable experience in applying poetry as a creative, practical, and enjoyable medium for English language teaching. The event also strengthened academic collaboration between Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang and Universitas Palangka Raya.
