Karawang, December 4th, 2025 Seventh-semester students of the 2022 academic year of the English Language Education Study Program at Singaperbangsa University Karawang successfully held “The Grand Showdown: Project Drama in English Language Teaching (ELT)” as part of the final exam for the Drama in English Language Teaching (ELT) course, under the guidance of Mr. Mansyur Srisudarso, S.Pd., M.Pd. The event took place at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Education and Culture, Singaperbangsa Karawang University.
This project was designed to assess students' ability to apply drama-based pedagogy in English language teaching, while enhancing their speaking skills, creativity, collaboration, and self-confidence. Through this final project, students demonstrated their understanding of drama as an effective and engaging teaching strategy in ELT.
The Drama Project in English Language Teaching (ELT) was carried out through group-based performances in which students prepared English drama scripts, rehearsed, and performed selected stories including Sangkuriang, The Last Green Field, The Legend of Situ Kamojing, and Cimata Indung. This student-centered approach actively involved learners in every stage of the learning and assessment process. This event is expected to strengthen students’ academic competence and professional preparation as future English teachers.
