KARAWANG, 21 April 2026 — The English Language Education Study Program at Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang (Unsika) is celebrating a major academic milestone. Rossa Merry Paskalia, an outstanding student from the program, has officially been selected to represent the university in the Undergraduate category at the 2026 Regional Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) for LLDIKTI Region IV.
According to a report by Resonan LPM Unsika, Rossa was chosen alongside Aulia Siti Rahayu from the D3 Midwifery program (Diploma category) after passing a rigorous online selection process hosted by the university's Reasoning Student Activity Unit (UKM Penalaran) in mid-March.
As a prospective English educator, Rossa’s diverse and impressive portfolio played a crucial role in her victory. Speaking to Resonan, Rossa shared that her standout achievements include winning first place in a national essay competition hosted by Ikopin University, securing first place in the International Scholarship Talks, and winning the 2025 FKIP Unsika Video Content Innovation Festival.
Her active involvement in the academic community also boosted her profile. She served as a moderator for the 2025 International Conference (Sicon) held by the English Language Education program (PBI Unsika), on top of winning several other national essay and short story competitions.
However, the journey to becoming Unsika's top student was highly demanding. Rossa had to balance her intense academic life with the selection process. "The biggest challenge was definitely time management. I often had to stay up extremely late just to juggle campus assignments, teaching practices, and the Pilmapres preparation," Rossa admitted to Resonan.
Rossa will be heading to the regional competition alongside Aulia, the Diploma category winner, who also boasts an impressive track record, including winning a national midwifery quiz and holding a copyright for an educational poster. Aulia, who had to juggle her hospital clinical shifts with the selection preparation, hopes that future Pilmapres events can reach an even wider range of study programs.
With Rossa Merry Paskalia leading the charge for the undergraduate level, the English Language Education Study Program continues to prove its commitment to producing highly competitive, globally-minded, and resilient students.
